TCW Minute: Refugee Vetting (Week of Feb. 6, 2017)
What to think of the refugee controversy. This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
President Trump issued an executive order to temporarily suspend refugees coming from seven Muslim-majority countries while the vetting process is examined. The order has resulted in protests and cries of discrimination.
Christians need to walk a very fine line here of loving strangers (refugees) but also loving our neighbors (fellow citizens).
If we are willing to altruistically overlook the bloodshed that certain Muslim immigrants have caused in the name of loving the stranger, we are not loving our neighbors. Loving our neighbor means prioritizing the security of our fellow citizens and then loving the refugees who want to assimilate to our constitutional values.

TCW Minute: A New President (Week of Jan. 23, 2017)
Trump in, Obama out. This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
Donald Trump was just sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, and his presidency promises to be very different than his predecessor.
President Obama’s worldview was that of a secular humanist, one based on human reasoning rather than God’s Word. Big government, globalism, environmentalism, and homosexual advocacy are his legacy.
Donald Trump’s inaugural speech reaffirmed that he a nationalist, bent on putting America’s interests first.
Please, remember to pray daily for our new president—that if he hasn’t put his trust in Christ, he would; that he would govern with a fear of and obedience to God.

TCW Minute: The Dubious UN Resolution Against Israel (Week of Jan. 16, 2017)
Why is the recent UN resolution against Israel significant? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
The UN Security Council recently passed a resolution declaring the building of, what they term “Israeli settlements in Palestinian occupied territories” to be illegal.
The US had the power to veto the resolution but chose to abstain from voting. And yet Israel says they have proof the Obama administration was the catalyst in crafting the resolution. What’s going on here?
Language deceit and human reasoning. This is Israel’s land, both historically and through military victory. Giving this land back to a sworn enemy who seeks Israel’s destruction is a dangerous and unbiblical idea.

TCW Minute: Making and Keeping Resolutions (Week of Jan. 9, 2017)
It’s a new year—so what about making resolutions? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
The Bible is full of imperatives—do this, don’t do that. So resolving to do something for God’s glory, pursued with His strength, is not only good but commanded.
The Bible says in Philippians 2:12-13: Work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
So set some realistic resolutions this year—reading the Word more regularly, growing in your marriage and parenting, and yes, being healthier with the body God has given you.
God will help you achieve the resolutions you make for His glory.
