Guest: Rich Christiano, film producer, A Matter of Faith
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8
Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Year’s is the season when families gather together, and one of the more popular activities is to go to the movies or to watch films at home.
But what movies? Most films produced by Hollywood contain a humanistic or even anti-Christian worldview, not to mention obscenity, profanity, violence, and sexual content. And yet many Christians watch the same movies as the rest of society.
What impact do movies have on Christians specifically and our culture generally? Is there a biblical criteria on which followers of Christ can base their movie-watching?
Rich Christiano thinks so. He is a longtime producer of Christian films and the founder of the website, ChristianMovies.com. He joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to give a behind the scenes look at the movie industry and to tell us about his film, A Matter of Faith, which just released on DVD and depicts the compelling story of a college freshman encountering a professor who teaches evolution.
NOTE: We are offering the DVD film, A Matter of Faith, for a limited time for $18. With students coming home this time of year, A Matter of Faith would be an excellent choice to watch as a family. You can order…
