Approaching Christ’s
Passion Week with Purpose

CURRENT PROGRAM: March 28, 2026

GUEST: PASTOR TRAVIS ALLEN

CURRENT PROGRAM: March 28, 2026

GUEST: SCOTT ANIOL, Executive VP and Editor-in-Chief G3 Ministries

The highest calling for Christians is to pursue holiness.

Scripture says this definitively, “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:14-16).

What hinders the pursuit of holiness, defined as Christ-likeness, is the opposite—worldliness. Worldliness is defined in Scripture as the sinful lusts and pride which the world around us relentlessly promotes:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world” (1 John 2:16).

Here’s what WORLDLINESS tells us:
>> If it feels good, do it.
>> If it looks good, get it.
>> If it elevates me, go for it.

Not surprisingly, the fallen world ruled by Satan presents endless ways to draw us off the path of holiness and down the dead end of worldliness. And most problematic, there’s something inside us that is drawn to what the sinful world offers. It’s enjoyable. It causes us to laugh. It makes us feel “in.” It boosts our view of self. And it’s really not going to affect me, right?

Scott Aniol, Executive Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of G3 Ministries and Professor of Pastoral Theology at Grace Bible Theological Seminary, joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to discuss worldliness and how to identify and overcome it.

We hope you find the conversation edifying for your Christian life.

Past Programs

TOPIC: Worldview Divide in the Mid-Term Elections

Recently on the program we have discussed how wide the worldview divide has become in our nation.  On one side there are those with a traditional American worldview—they generally believe in God, more limited government, free market economics, equal opportunity for all, national sovereignty, border control, and heterosexual morality/marriage, and individual liberties of [...]

TOPIC: Will You Be a Fool for Christ’s Sake?

GUEST: Ray Comfort, film producer, Living Waters No one wants to be considered a fool; rather, most everyone desires to be esteemed and respected. But this won’t be the case for those who follow Jesus.  The Bible says, “the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing” (1 Corinthians 1:18).  [...]

TOPIC: How Can the Divided States of America Become United?

Then Jonah began to go through the city one day’s walk; and he cried out and said, “Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.  Jonah 3:4-5 We [...]

TOPIC: Tim Keller and Speech Act Theory

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.  Colossians 2:8 The reason the framers of The Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel wrote the document is spelled out in [...]

TOPIC: Your Feedback: Is President Trump Making America Great? (and What You Made of Thursday’s Judiciary Hearing Regarding Judge Brett Kavanaugh)

For the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly ruined.  Isaiah 60:12 Last week on the program, we examined the question, “Is President Trump Making America Great” (as per his campaign slogan to “Make America Great Again”). We first looked at whether America [...]

TOPIC: Is Trump Making America Great?

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.  Proverbs 14:34 Back in August, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated, ”We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great.” This is the sentiment of many on the political left, who view America as historically and structurally [...]

TOPIC: Why The Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel?

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?  Micah 6:8 “Social justice is a gospel issue.”  If you’ve heard this said once recently, you’ve likely heard it dozens of times. [...]
