TCW Minute: How To Accurately Interpret the Bible? (Week of March 5, 2018)
How to accurately interpret the Bible? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
We can say the Bible is the Word of God. We can read it cover to cover and memorize passages. But do we interpret the Bible correctly as the Author, God, intended?
The apostle Paul told Timothy, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
First, ask God that His Spirit would help you understand His Word. Then read an entire book to discover the main theme and the historical context. Finally, make sure your interpretation of a given passage is consistent with the rest of Scripture and respected past and present Bible teachers as well.
This weekend, we’ll discuss how Muslims and non-Muslims can have freedom from Islam.
TCW Minute: Is Gun Control the Answer? (Week of Feb. 26, 2018)
Another deadly shooting occurred at a FL high school when a 19-year-old former student killed 17 in a six-minute rampage.
The immediate call was for gun control, as if that is the only solution, despite the fact that the FBI failed to pursue two advance tips about the killer and four on-site armed guard failed to confront him.
While the background check system to purchase a firearm should be reviewed, it’s long overdue to protect school children with armed security provided at other sensitive venues. Because bad guys with guns are stopped or slowed down by good guys trained and willing to use theirs.

TCW Minute: The Biggest Challenge (Week of Feb. 12, 2018)
What is the biggest challenge? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
It’s Christians parents raising children who love God as adults. Consider how the sons of Eli, Israel’s high priest, turned out. Or you may know or have an adult child who was raised in a Christian home, but now has little to no interest in the things of God.
What to do? Christian parents must authentically follow Christ themselves and intentionally cultivate the same with their children, trusting God and the principle (not a guarantee) of Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
