TCW Minute: Remembering RC Sproul (Week of Jan. 8, 2018)
What should we learn from the life of RC Sproul? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
RC Sproul was one of the most influential biblical preachers of the last 50 years. Last month at the age of 78, he went home to the Lord.
RC, as he was called by many, was a devoted husband and father, a pastor, revered theologian, author, and founder of Ligonier Ministries, the largest Reformed ministry in the world. And yet he still had a common touch with people.
He will be remembered for accurately representing God, particularly His holiness, defending the inerrancy of Scripture, and his unwavering stand on the gospel of faith alone in Christ. Let us so be remembered.

This weekend, we’ll discuss how a young earth answers man’s oldest problem.

The Christmas carol that starts: What child is this, who, laid to rest, On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
goes on to say: Nails, spears shall pierce him through, the cross he bore for me, for you.
Jesus was born to die. To abbreviate Hebrews 2:7, Jesus had to be made like His brethren in all things … to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
In the hustle and bustle of Christmas, let’s not forget that baby Jesus in the wooden trough was the beginning of His march to the wooden cross.

Pastor Bill Hybels recently announced he is retiring and that two co-pastors will take his place: a female lead pastor and a male teaching pastor.
The Bible says, “I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve (1 Timothy 2:11-13).
God created men and women for different roles in the church and home. Embracing His design is for our good and His glory.
