TCW Minute: Cultural Marxism (Week of Nov. 13, 2017)

What is Cultural Marxism?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
Cultural Marxism is a worldview based on Karl Marx, author of The Communist Manifesto, that views society as the struggle between oppressor and oppressed.
Marxism is typically defined in terms of economics—the haves oppressing the have nots.  Cultural Marxism adds certain identity groups, such as, women, homosexuals, immigrants, and minority skin colors being oppressed by men, Christians, nationalists, and whites.
Terms like “social justice”, ”equity”, “multiculturalism”, “women’s rights”, and “anti-fascist” are used to advance Cultural Marxism.
Be aware—Cultural Marxism intends to topple Christian influence in our society.
This weekend, we’ll discuss how Christians should respond to Cultural Marxism.

TCW Minute: Slavery and the Bible (Week of Nov. 6, 2017)

Why didn’t Jesus work to end slavery?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.
Slavery has been a fact of mankind from the beginning of time and still exists in parts of the world today.  Jesus lived during a time when slavery was rampant in the Roman Empire.  So why didn’t He work to end it?
Pastor John MacArthur answers: “Had Jesus and the apostles done so, the result would have been chaos.  Any slave insurrection would have been brutally crushed, and the slaves massacred.  The gospel would have been swallowed up by the message of social reform.  Christianity, however, sowed the seeds of the destruction of slavery, not by social upheaval, but by changed hearts.”
And then tune in this weekend for another topic that will sharpen your worldview.

TCW Minute: Halloween or Reformation Day? (Week of Oct. 30, 2017)

Halloween or Reformation Day? This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

How tragic that on October 31 Western Civilization celebrates Halloween instead of Reformation Day.

For it was on that date 500 years ago when German monk Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the church door in Wittenberg to protest errant doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, igniting the Protestant Reformation, a 150-year era that altered Christianity and Western Civilization.

The Reformation recovered crucial doctrines that had been shrouded for centuries. Christians today need to carry on this legacy, “to contend earnestly for the faith.” Jude 3

This weekend, we’ll discuss the Evangelical Shift to Women Teaching Men.

TCW Minute: Race-Ism in School (Week of Oct. 23, 2017)

Race-Ism in schools. This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

The City of Edina, an affluent border suburb of Minneapolis, had among the highest rated school districts in the state and the nation. But then several years ago, the district transitioned to a race-based curriculum, where one’s skin color is viewed as of primary identity and purpose.

And the results are in: reading and math scores are down and division is rife.

The Bible says there is only one race, the human race, and never mentions skin color as a dividing line among peoples.

Christians of every skin color need to remember that we “are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

Hear an interview about this at TheChristianWorldview.org.

This weekend, we’ll discuss the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
