Moral Revolution (January 4-10, 2016)

How to respond to the moral revolution?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

“We are living in the midst of a revolution…one that is transforming the entire moral structure of meaning and life that human beings have recognized for millennia.”  So writes Dr. Albert Mohler in his new book, We Cannot Be Silent.

This revolution did not start and will not end with the Supreme Court decision affirming homosexual marriage.  Secularization of our culture and compromise within the church paved the way for the long march from birth control to divorce to cohabitation to homosexuality to transgenderism.

Christians need to be informed about this moral revolution, as we must respond with truth, grace, and courage.

Hear more about this in an interview with Dr. Mohler at TheChristianWorldview.org.

This weekend, we’ll talk about why Christmas is so much better than Star Wars.

Mid-Term Election (Nov. 10-16, 2014)

What to make of the mid-term election?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

Republicans made huge gains, wresting control of the US Senate away from Democrats and winning an even larger majority in the House.  It would be difficult to interpret the results as anything other than a repudiation of President Obama’s liberal agenda.

While Christians can be thankful that there will be some counterbalance to the work-suppressing and morality-redefining policies we’ve seen over the last six years, we need to keep in mind that more Republicans in office is not going to save anyone’s soul.  The only thing that has ever been able to do that is the gospel of Jesus Christ preached and believed.

Elections Matter (Nov 3 – 9, 2014)

TRANSCRIPT:

Do elections really matter?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

To answer that, consider whether our country would be different today if President Obama wasn’t elected in 2008.  He promised to “fundamentally transform America” and he has been highly successful in doing so.

He pushed through a health care system that is government controlled.  His persistent advocacy for homosexuality has paved the way for broad societal approval of that sin.  His policy in the middle east, especially Iraq, has allowed radical Islamists to take power.

As it was in OT Israel, the kings that reign over us make a big difference … for better or for worse.

This weekend, we’ll talk with David Limbaugh about his new book, Jesus on Trial.

Holiness (Oct. 27-Nov. 2, 2014)

TRANSCRIPT:

Holiness—our greatest need and our greatest lack.  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

God offers forgiveness of sins through Christ’s perfect sacrifice on the cross.  God also gives believers something else: Jesus’ perfect righteousness.  Positionally, God no longer sees the believer as a sinner but rather a saint.

But of course our present condition tells otherwise.  Even though the believer’s past, present, and future sins have been covered, we still sin in our fallen flesh.

God commands, “You shall be holy, as I am holy.”  While we can’t be perfectly holy now, we are called to strive for it as we study God’s Word and obey it and the Holy Spirit within us.

Hear an interview about the pursuit of holiness with author Jerry Bridges at TheChristianWorldview.org.
