TCW Minute: The Productive Christian (Week of Jan. 7, 2019)

What does productivity mean for the Christian?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

Productivity can seem a subject more suited for business-people than for Christians.  But the Bible is clear, especially in Jesus’ parable of the talents in Matthew 25, that God expects His followers to use everything He gives us to advance His kingdom.

In his book, Do More Better, pastor Tim Challies shares a plan for Christians to become more productive, not merely for self-improvement, but rather for God’s glory and the good of others.  Who wouldn’t want to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.”

TCW Minute: Don’t Miss the Reason for the Season (Week of Dec. 24, 2018)

Don’t miss the Reason for the season.  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

The angel announced to the shepherds: Behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  Luke 2:10-11

The coming of the Son of God into the world was the greatest event in history, and yet most everyone missed that first Christmas.

The innkeeper was too busy.  The religious leaders too self-righteous.  The people of Jerusalem too absorbed in religious rituals.

It’s no different today.  Let’s not let shopping, Santa, or secularism distract us from worshipping the Savior, Christ the Lord.

TCW Minute: Truths Without The Truth Part 2 (Week of Dec. 17, 2018)

Truths without The Truth.  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

Psychology professor Jordan Peterson and Orthodox Jew Ben Shapiro have become well-known for their pushback against Cultural Marxism, which seeks to topple biblical Christianity in order to enforce a utopian world of social justice.

Peterson and Shapiro speak some truths, but Christians should be wary of too much influence by their worldview that mixes some biblical truth with flawed human reason.

Let’s be reminded from 2 Peter 1 that, “God’s divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”

TCW Minute: Truths Without The Truth (Week of Dec. 10, 2018)

How to view those who espouse truths without the Truth?  This is David Wheaton, host of The Christian Worldview.

There is pushback against the ever-increasing totalitarian impulse of the Left, which seeks to redefine what God has established regarding marriage, sexuality, gender, individuality, and freedom of belief and speech, punishing or “de-platforming” those who dare dissent.

Leading the pushback are thought leaders such as Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and Dennis Prager, who influence millions of followers.  All espouse degrees of truth, but none actually believe in “the truth”—Jesus Christ.

Christians can learn from them, but let’s remember that only Jesus and His Word are  “the way and the truth and the life.”
