Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. (Matthew 24:12-13)
Watch the various television news channels on a given day, and as a Christian, you might struggle to process it all.
In one segment, you’ll hear about Islamists beheading American journalists, U.S. citizens joining the Islamic State (ISIS), and Russia advancing into Ukraine. In the next, you might hear celebrity news, cooking tips, or “history” being made with a homosexual NFL player or a women’s college changing their admissions policy to allow biological males who identify as female. Depending what channel you’re watching, you’ll probably hear about President Obama playing another round of golf.
Is what is taking place in the world any worse—or any more trivial—at other times in history? Do most Americans pay attention or even care about what is going on internationally and domestically? Does the media blow things out of proportion or try to shape the way we think about the news?
Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief of WORLD Magazine, will join us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to talk about some of the major news stories presented in the media and how Christians should respond.
