According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse, “abuse of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs cost our nation more than $740 billion annually in costs related to crime, lost work productivity and health care.”
And that doesn’t measure the lives, marriages, children, relationships, and even communities that are deeply harmed or lost. What’s more, drug use and alcohol abuse significantly burden law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
So what can be done to stem the incoming tide of these “substances of mass destruction”? What are the solutions that come from God’s word?
