For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19
Whether one calls it “original sin” or “the fall of man”, it is a crucial doctrine for understanding the world around us, and more importantly, our own nature and need for redemption.
Almost everyone would agree that “nobody’s perfect” but most believe that man is inherently good and the concept of original sin is more fiction than fact.
We read in the first two chapters of Genesis that God created a perfect universe and a perfect human couple, Adam and Eve. But then in Genesis 3 when tempted by Satan, Adam sinned by disobeying God. Everything changed for the worse: the earth, human relationships, work, childbearing … everything.
This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Abner Chou, professor of Biblical Studies at The Master’s College joins us to discuss the reality and ramifications of original sin and what God provides in response.
