Their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their paths. And the path of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Romans 3:15-18
The deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman in U.S. history took place this past Sunday evening in Las Vegas. A 64-year-old man named Stephen Paddock perched himself in a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, shooting at thousands of people gathered below for a country music concert. 58 were killed and hundreds injured.
This weekend on The Christian Worldview, we will look to Scripture for answers to four questions that inevitably arise from a tragedy such as this:
- What does this evil teach us about God, America, and human nature?
- Why do mass casualty incidents unnerve us more than the thousands of other deaths that occur every day in America?
- Is there any way to stop these acts of violence, such as stricter gun control?
- What should a Christian’s “thoughts and prayers” be in incidents like this?
We hope you’ll join us for this important discussion.
